Promoting Equality, Inclusion & Non-Discrimination

The Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) of Shardabai Pawar Arts, Commerce & Science College has been constituted to foster an inclusive and equitable academic environment for all students and staff, irrespective of gender, socio-economic background, caste, religion, region or disability.

The Cell works to promote a culture of equality, respect and sensitivity on campus by addressing concerns related to discrimination, ensuring fair access to opportunities and supporting disadvantaged and marginalised groups through awareness, counselling and facilitative measures.

Objectives of EOC

  • To inculcate a culture of equality, dignity and respect for all.
  • To prevent discrimination based on gender, caste, class, language, religion or disability.
  • To create awareness about constitutional values, human rights and inclusive practices.
  • To support students from disadvantaged backgrounds in accessing academic and support services.
  • To ensure that institutional policies and practices are sensitive to diversity and inclusion.

Key Functions of EOC

  • Design strategies and action plans to promote equality and inclusion across the campus.
  • Organise awareness programmes, workshops and campaigns on equity and non-discrimination.
  • Coordinate with IQAC, ICC and other statutory bodies for convergence of equity-related initiatives.
  • Maintain documentation of activities and compliance related to inclusive practices.
  • Encourage student participation and representation in equality and outreach initiatives.
